What to expect on the day

Get ready to sizzle and spook at our Halloween-themed Live Fire Barbecue Class! Join us for a wickedly fun day filled with ghoulish delights. As you step into our hauntingly decorated outdoor kitchen, we will guide you through a spine-chillingly delicious menu perfect for the season.

Our Live Fire Masterclass is a full day dedicated to cooking over wood and charcoal using traditional techniques from around the world. You'll learn how to read a fire, build different heat zones, control temperatures without dials, and use flame, embers and smoke to create incredible flavour.

Throughout the day you'll cook on a range of live fire equipment, discovering techniques including direct grilling, ember cooking, hanging, plancha cooking and Asado-inspired methods. We'll also cover wood selection, fire management and the little tricks that make cooking over fire feel effortless rather than intimidating.

From ghostly smoked ribs to devilishly spicy chicken wings, we'll teach you the tricks and treats of mastering the grill with a Halloween twist.  We welcome you to bring your teenager along for the price of one ticket!

• Fire management
• Use a variety of live fire equipment, including:  Kadai bowl, fire cage, Flamery Asado grills, Petromax fire bridge
• Meat preparation
• Direct and indirect cooking
• Cooking to temperature and not to time
• Managing equipment throughout the cooking process
  

The menu

Learn to create delectable dishes such as:

• “Frankentein” beef ribs
• Carne Asada “monster” nachos
• Cider brined pork chops
• Smokey “bat” wings
• Toffee apple crumble

The school is based off road and can be tricky to find.  Using a sat nav follow the instructions to Spout Lane and follow the quiet road until you see and army base pill box on your right hand side and there is a right hand turn very shortly after this.  Follow the lane all the way to the top and you will find us waiting for you at Slough Hall.

Parking is limited, we will help you park on the day but wherever possible please do car share.
